We are proud to announce that Bio4Pack has been awarded the BRC-AA certificate this year. It goes without saying that we are very happy with this, because obtaining a certificate is perhaps even easier than keeping it. In fact, thanks to the efforts of the entire team, but also with the help of our sister companies, we managed to score better than last year when we received the BRC-A certificate. Bio4Pack attaches great importance to the BRC-AA certificate. It confirms that we not only maintain a high standard when it comes to the products we supply, but also realize the entire process around logistics and storage at the same high level. This will only work if everyone within an organization is aware of this and contributes to it. We are therefore proud that we have been able to achieve this result with the cooperation of the entire team.
Despite COVID-19 and the role of the Dutch government, 2021 is a successful year for Bio4Pack
Despite all the COVID-19 issues, Bio4Pack can look back on a successful year. We are proud that we made an increasingly important contribution to a sustainable world and hope to build on this success again next year. We note that the preconditions for a positive market development of compostable packaging abroad were more favorable than in the Netherlands. For a long time the Netherlands had a leading position in Europe when it comes to promoting compostable and other sustainable packaging. However, policy in recent years has lead to a situation where the Netherlands are now more or less the black sheep of Europe. Despite all the plans for a circular economy, there are insufficient incentives from the government to give compostable packaging a chance on the packaging market. The negative role of waste processors also contributes to the position of the Netherlands in Europe. Fortunately, however, there are still companies in the Netherlands such as UDEA and Ekoplaza that are committed to compostable packaging. They have a clear vision on sustainable packaging and play a pioneering role leading to a circular economy. Thanks to these types of companies and our customers in the rest of Europe, we can therefore look back on a successful 2021!
